How to use Red and Yellow cards
HOW TO USE RED/YELLOW CARDS:
1. Go towards the player to be cautioned or ordered off. Do not stand and beckon the player as he may refuse to approach you and thus a situation is aggravated i.e. yellow card could become red card.
2. Face the player and show the card by raising it over his head.
3. Ask the player for his name and then ask him to turn in order that you may note his number.
4. Inform the player of the reason for the caution/sending, off e.g. “I am cautioning you for unsporting behaviour.”
5. Do not allow the player to turn his back when the card is being shown. Do not show card to a player who is being treated for an injury. Await the completion of the treatment before showing the card.
